My sound system isn't as loud with the radio?

-I have two 10s - JL audio W3v2 and a Rockford fosgate amp- 600 watts. For some reason it doesn't beat as hard with the radio playing but when I plug my phone up and listen to music it's ridiculously loud. Same with any one elses phone. My other friends that have sound systems don't do this. It's the same on their phone as it is just the radio. Any suggestions as to why it does this?I'm willing to bet that you have your phone hooked up to your radio by the headphone jack on the phone. Since im willing to bet on that then its because your phone has a volume control for your built-in speaker in your phone and when you hook up that cord to your phone its like hooking up a pair of headphones. the phone will control the volume to the jack and the radio is receiving the music at that volume. Try turning down the music on your phone and is will turn down the volume on the radio.
the signal from the radio doesn't have as many low frequencies you do have to realize that non HD radio isn't as good sounding as an MP3 player. It does have to do with the radio its self, if it has a equalizer or sound processing you will have to play around with that. if you want. Your phone might have a equalizer or some kind of better quality sound cumming from it

Which set of speakers?

-I'm trying to decide on a pair of speakers to buy in this price range. Cost within this range isn't an issue. I also understand that much of a "good speaker" is personal preference. I don't have a place nearby where I can test each of these out so I'm wondering which you'd pick and why. I bought a pair of Infinity Kappas 5 years ago because everyone said they were the best for my price range, and absolutely hated them. I have a subwoofer, but I'd like speakers that sound great by themselves--full, strong, articulate. I want the whole package including hi fidelity at normal ranges but have the ability to sound full when you turn the volume up.

Thanks

Cobra's are cheap radios and not worth half what they charge for them. Really. They are considered throw away radios in the trucking world.

How would these subs go in?

-Just purchased this sub (all links will be shown below) and this box. Still am waiting for them to ship but I started looking at the sub, and... well I didn't see any screw holes on the front. Some on the back, but how am I supposed to get those when there is no other openings on the box. Maybe I am missing something, if so hopefully someone that has gotten these subs already can help me out.

Also I have read comments about getting a grill for the sub, do I have to? I mean I like the way the subs look already and I don't really want to buy a unnecessary thing.

The sub: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2418鈥?/a>

The box: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7566鈥?/a>

Thank you for your time and effort, it is greatly appreciatedthere are screw holes that match up with the back ones. if you look at the front there is a rubber ring that covers the outer ring of the sub. it just gives a cleaner appearance.

Amp making speaker buzz?

-I hooked up an alpine 6x9 to an amp a friend gave me. He knows nothing about audio for the record. The amp says 180 peak so I figured around 60 rms. My 6x9 is 85 and when I hooked it up I could hear a little music and a loud obnoxious buzzing sound. when I turned the gain up it got louder. So I unhooked it and hooked the speakers back up to the head unit and the speaker is fine. What's wrong with the amp? I used the same exact wiring for a different amp and it worked fine.

Can i run alpine type r subs with a OVN2-1800?

-I'm looking into getting 3 Alpine SWR-823D in a ported box, and im buying the OVN2-1800 gothic amp from my friend, I was wondering if that amp would be okay to run on those subs, if there is something better, and where I can find a ported box that will fit the subs?

Lost Radio/CD code as we toke battery out of a car,?

-Toke battery out of my car and put in my friends car, AND guess WHAT lost the radio/cd code , thank you, i was given code for my car but not my friend car as i did'nt have Model number; Now i have a serial and model number, i wonder IF some one can help with the code,FORD .Model;

B3LOWCD.Serial no;M010738.Part no;2561-18C815-AH.FD (EH)10R-02 0451.FD 4500 3 M010738.

It would be great hepl if some one out there knowns the code, thankyouYour code is, 0471.

Do not put random numbers in like Elaine suggests (yet again) as you will lock it permanently.Go to ebay there are sites on there that will send you the unlock code for as little as 70p. Just send them your ser.no. M010738 and some sort of payment and you will probably be up and running again today.
That's an easy one - the M0 serial gives it away. Try 145236, 223141 or if the radio firmware has never been updated the four digit codes 2314, 4523 or 6551.

What do I need to know for Michigan road test?

Kenwood subs question?

-I got two Kenwood KFC-W3012 subs. I currently have a KAC-5204 amp powering the subs. Only 350 watts and it's just not loud enough. I want to push at least 1000 through it but idk if that's too much for my subs to handle because I don't know the RMS and I don't know what type of amp I should get. The amp is currently bridged. I should get another 2 channel amp right? And I'm thinking about an 800-1200 watt amp. If someone could shed a little light and help me out I'd really appreciate it.Properly setup in the right sized enclosure, those subs should handle 1000WRMS (500 each) without problems.

For big power you need a dedicated subwoofer amp AKA Monoblock. Kenwood happens to make a nice unit which is big enough and solid enough to deliver 1200WRMS into 1ohm ! Perfect for your application, check the bad boy out:

Im getting my first system and its 2 12" kenwood subs 400 rms each with a 1600w amp what do you think?

-To keep from having to possibly spend more money than required, you only need an amp with an RMS rating that is 70-100% of the combined RMS rating of your subs. For 800 watts RMS, an amp rated at 560-800 watts RMS is plenty.Thats pretty awesome. Get ready to have to strap down stuff in your car. I know someone who sold some two 12" mtx's because it was literally breaking stuff on his car. it broke part of his body kit! haha

But yeah, thats pretty nice
I'd take it!

If i put a Dual XDM6350 stereo in will it work if I don't have an antenna?

-I have a 1995 Ford Explorer but my antenna got stolen so i dont have one...just my luck.it should work i have the same one and my antenna got stolen at walmartand it still works....assholes

I have a fli 1000 watt sub ive connected to my speakers as i dont have a amp?

-and atm it makes a horrible noise but am i supposed to connect it to the rear rca cables???Sorry dude but you just cant hook a subwoofer into a system by connecting it to other speakers and expect it to perform. Subs need amps PERIOD.

Now, undo your rigging before the impedence change wrecks your head unit too.

I'm building a box for a JL 8w0 sub. Jl recommends a box with .75 cu. ft. n a 2.5 in port. ?

-What I want to know is. Is that the best box for the sub? They are going into a 08 silverado single cab. Thanks.yea

Can my amp power these subwoofers?

-I have a Soundstream LW2 260 watt amp. Is this RMS? It must be because my subwoofer is 1000 watt peak.

Can that amp power these Kickers??

Do you think they will pound hard??

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/kick鈥?/a>

2 12" Kickers----- 750 watts peak power handling (250 Watts RMS)I disagree with the two previous answers.

When it comes to car audio the answer to "can I do this" is almost always yes. The real question is, would it be worth doing.

The box contains a pair of 4 ohm subs. They are wired parallel resulting in a 2 ohm load at the box's wire terminal. Inside the box it looks something like this: http://images.the12volt.com/12voltimages鈥?/a>

Your amp can only function at 4 ohms or higher when bridged. So in its current state you'd have to use only one channel, and each sub would get around 75w rms. Plus, you'd have to choose either left or right which would not be good for sound quality.

The best solution would be to unscrew the subs from the box and rewire them like this: http://images.the12volt.com/12voltimages鈥?/a>

That would provide an 8 ohm load. Unfortunately the power to each sub wouldn't change, but doing in this way would place a much lighter load on both channels of the amp, vs a heavy load on just one channel. On top of that you'd have the combined signal from both the left and right channels which is ideal for subwoofer sound quality. No, it will not power those subs. It will likely ruin them actually. That amp is only 60w RMS per channel. You need an amp that puts out between 400 and 500w RMS to power those subs.

With the right amp and right enclosures they will "pound" just fine.
you can not use that amplifier with the subs you linked to. the subwoofers are wired for a 2 ohm mono load. your amplifier only runs speakers 4 ohms or higher when bridged.

Stereo in my car sucks...is this one okay?

-I drive a Mitsubishi Lancer, and my current stereo is terrible. My dad pulled me one from a car on his lot (owns a towing company, he has like 54867 cars). It's an Aiwa. It has a CD drive like my old one, but also an MP3 plug-in. I know next to nothing about this particular brand. Any good?no way to know if it is good but the main question is did you get new speakers? that's a big part of any system and probably what you should replace

Are earthquake amplifiers any good?

-the class d mono block amplifiers by them.

Does any one know how much it would cost to repair my car stereo & install ONSTAR FMV ON A 2004 CHEVY IMPALA?

-I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY IMPALA... THE PREVIOUS OWNER BLEW THE FACTORY AMP, AND DECIDED NOT TO REPLACE THE STEREO.. THEY THEN DECIDED TO DISCONNECT THE AMP AND RUN THE CABLES DIRECTLY TO THE FACTORY STEREO.. SO NOW I BASICALLY HAVE THE FACTORY STEREO, BUT WIRES RUNNING DIRECTLY TO THE STEREO... I CANT FADE MY SPEAKERS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT OR BACK TO FRONT..I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT STEREOS, OR CARS FOR THAT FACT... THE CAR WAS A GIFT, AND I WOULD LIKE TO ADD ONSTAR FMV TO IT.. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS GOING TO BE A ISSUE, O AND THERE WAS ALSO A AFTER MARKET REMOTE START INSTALLED (WRONG MIGHT I ADD).. IS THAT GOING TO BE AN ISSUE WITH GETTING ONSTAR? PLEASE HELP ME OUT, AND SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY.. IF SOME ONE IS IN THE LAKE COUNTY INDIANA AREA AND KNOW OF A PLACE THE SPECIALIZES IN THIS, IT WOULD GREATLY HELP.

THANKS A BUNCH:)Your best bet is to get an aftermarket stereo, and adding onstar to be integrated into your stereo and car is VERY expensive

Can you put a car subwoofer on its back? I have a big ole 15" now and it takes better space laying back.?

-I have a big ole 15" now in a hatchback that I used to use the cover on my 12". That slider cover so people don't know what you got. I know the bass might not bounce off the walls and resonate as well but until I get my windows tinted I would like to conceal it if possible w/o damaging the speaker. That'll work fine.

It'll work better on its back than it will if someone steals it.

Why is the bass in my car starting to have a static noise?

-I've had my car for 3 years and it's a new car. When I played music with bass before it sounded fine, now it has a static sound to it and it sounds like it's coming from the trunk and sometimes my side door. How can I get rid of the static noise in my bass. I don't even play my music loud, but I like bass in my music. Help!yeah your just going to have to replace them. bass kills speakers, and car companies know this. they just want it to sound good for the time that its on the lot so they put "premium sound" and other junk in that is very unreliable.Your bass speakers are blown and need to be replaced.

Car stereo not working?

-Ok I have a 64 chevy truck and it didn't have any wiring ran for a stereo. So I mounted a stereo and speakers. Hooked the yellow wire to the battery, red to the ignition and black wire grounded to the cab in a good place that's bear metal. Hooked it to the battery cause the teminal in the fuse box was broke. I'm not getting anything out of the radio. So I tried switching the red and yellow wire thinking I had it wrong and still nothing. Stereo was working when I pulled it out of my other truck a few months ago. Who knows what could be wrong??

How much would it cost to have an AUX imput put into my car?

-I plan on buying a jeep wrangler, 2 door, in about a year and I was wondering how much would it cost to have an AUX imput installed? There is one in my parents car and I always use it so I obviously want it in my car too. I've been googleing costs aaand I just want to get some people's answers too.

Thanks in advance! If there is a mode button on the radio , you can add the auxiliary input this is very simple to plug on the back side of the radio ,

they are $69.00 you have to make sure to pick one for the year of your vehicle

An alternative to having a AUX input in your car is to get a cassette dock if the car has a cassette player, it may be a little more of a hastle to take it in and out but hey for a cost of 8$ I don't mind at all.

96 Pontiac Grand Prix Amp and wire kit for stereo?

-I installed my own new cd player in my car. I got some subs given to me from a friend for free. I don't want anything fancy, but I I'm told I need a amp for it and the wires to connect it all.

Can someone send me some links of what I need? I'm a noob at all of this. Any help would be awesome.

Whats the best way to wire a Kicker L7 (2ohm) with a Alpine MRP-M1000?

-Can you run this amp at 1ohm?

Or is there anyway to run it at 2ohm to 2ohm?best way is buy another 2 ohm L7 bc that is too much power for 1 sub anyway. wire it series to 4 ohm and get 500 watts from the amp... and then you can wire a second sub the same way and connect it too to get the full 1000 watts at 2 ohm . 1000 watts is too much to a L7 unless it is a 15".... in that case you need a dual 4 ohm version. sorry... here is wiring help:

Would lining JL's H.O.12w7enclosure with Polyfill make it sound any louder/crisper or more bass/Spl?

-Have to open up the box anyway to silicone a small leak and was just wondering if I wuld gain anything or if it would sound any better if stuffed it or lined it with some leftover polyfill I had from another build I did. Tjanx.no major difference.

Might play a touch lower.

Polyfill makes the box perform as if it were somewhat larger. How much depends on the quantity of poly per cubic foot. IIRC using about 1.5lb of fill per cubic foot nets an effective volume increase of around 35%.

If the subs would benefit from a larger box it could help a little, but if the box is already the ideal size adding polyfill could actually make things a little worse.i do not about the h.o. box in particular . but i know some jl audio boxes come with polyfill in them already.so if polyfill would help then chances are it already has it.

What amp should i get for my subs?

What happens If you overpower a car subwoofer?

-I have a 10 inch pioneer, that has 450 watt peak/max power. And my amp is running a little over 500 watts. Is this bad?As long as your amp is putting out a clean signal and not clipping

Your sub can take that extra 50 watts no problem.

and dont listen to mitch... Most audio shops dont do a great job tuning amps... they dont have OScopes... usually in between halfway and 3/4 is a good spot for the gain on the amp and you never want to do more than 3/4 of your max headunit volume or youll send a distorted and clipped signal to the amp.

Clipping will fry that sub ALOT faster than an extra 50 watts.

and a type R can deffinately take more than 600 if you fried it thats your own bad bud....

Subs are underrated because they have to leave room for people like u to **** up
First, ignore peak power numbers.....always refer to RMS. Secondly, amps have a gain control that allows you to control the power going to the sub. Its almost always ok to have a more powerful amp than the subs recommend IF you know how to exercise restraint and dial in the gain to the right level.
The best thing to do is to go to an audio shop and have them tune your amp. With the right settings, your sub will pound hard, and not blow. it seems like a waste of money at the time. but its cheaper than a new sub.

How do u set up the aux in a 2002 chevy avalanch?

-i have a chevy avalanch its a 2002 i notic3d a aux button on the stock sterio im woundering how you hook something up so that the aux works for an mp3More than likely there is an auxilary input on the rear of the stock headunit (not a typical minijack input, but a proprietary multi-pin input). Assuming that is the case, you should be able to purchase an adapter online or through the dealership that would convert that port into either a minijack input or rca inputs.
Go to www.usaspec.com, input your vehicle information and select for an aux adapter. I would suggest getting an ipod adapter with aux input in it. I've done plenty of them and its the best way and simple direct plug and play. Good luck.

with a 500 watt memphis ampthe amp sells new for 259.00 and the p1 12s are 129 each to bad you cant get the max from that amp with those subs the best if they are the 4 ohm is a 2 ohm configuration with that amp you only get 300 watts at 2 ohms. well thats over the max on those subs but i bet they sound good as hell that amp can give more but its a good system. that amp is stable at 1 ohm and 500 watts rms you could do better if you change subs. to a p3d2 12 wired to 1 ohm you can get all 500 from the amp. but you got good beats now ok. but how are those boxes set up get an ohm meter and checkProbably about $250-$300.

Who's right? Crutchfield or Best Buy?

-I have a 2006 Ford Mustang and I'm interested in a double-din in-dash stereo. The one I want is a JVC KW-XR610. Crutchfield says it will fit in my car, but Best Buy says it won't. I really don't trust myself with installing this, but who's right? Crutchfield or Best Buy?I never trust best buy. On some current subs I went to look at the site said 8 ohms, then I looked at the sub itself and it said 4 ohms. Also they have a lot of other misleading info. But another good site to look at is soniceletronix.com. They have very fast shipping, most of the time free. And their products you can find cheaper. If you are wondering, they can be trusted.
Without knowing much about the specific radio, I'd trust Crutchfield way more than Best Buy. I've bought a number of stereos from them and have never had an issue. If you can find Mustang owners or forums sometimes that's a good way to check.

But this is something Crutchfield does really well.
Crutchfield is correct. You can easily fit any double-DIN head unit into a newer Mustang, using a mounting kit.
I'm pretty sure I remember putting some double-dins in mustangs before...so it should work. You could check metra.com and see if they offer a double-din kit for your vehicle-then you'd know for sure.

Volume knobs won't fit my guitar!!!! Help!!!!?

-I've just switched over my passive pickups to active pickups. However, the 25k volume/tonal pots are wider than the original pots. As a result, the volume/tonal knobs no longer fit. Can someone recommend somewhere I can find volume/tonal pots that will fit?

Will this amp sound good with this sub?

-the sub is a kicker solobaric 15 the old round one and the amp is a audiofonics adf-240Don't buy that junk your better off buying a 4000w pyle amp that that. Get a good amp with that subwoofer. Alpine, JL, HiFonics(brutus), MTX, Kicker, rockford fosgate, audioque, candence. many more are good amp makesaudiophonics is the cheapest car audio crap I have ever dealt with. I would not put audiophonics in my worst enemy's car.

Help on car stereo.....?

-If I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota and i want to put just a stereo receiver. Like what kind of dash kit do i need and what kind of like wiring kit thing do i need? And i want to put a dual xr4110 receiver in and i dont think that it matters which one i put in.Crutchfield.com and Bestbuy.com can also provide vehicle specific information about what you will need. If you want to search on line.
for the kit you could refer these two website http://www.autodvdgps.com and http://www.qualir.com

Car audio colleges, how do i get started?

-So, originally i enrolled in University of phoenix for homeland security, because it was a sure thing, and its accredited.but recently, alot of my friends have been coming to me, to help wire and install car audio systems. Today, my friend called me to help him, and he pulled brand new black mustang into my garage. I literally wired it, installed two 12" mtx subs, and a 1200w amp in less than two hours. and i started thinking. thats what i love to do. and i dont mind the work, and time put into it. But every tech school i look at, isnt accredited. and seems kind of sketchy. This is something i love, and i feel like i would be really good at. I have no clue how to get started into this kind of industry. All I ever known was law enforcement, and military. My whole family has a chain of military, and law enforcement. thats why i got into homeland security. but i really love working with car audio, and sound systems. ANY kind of help at all would be so awesome.I don't wanna steer you away exactly, but I will forewarn you that it is HARD to make a living as an installer. Back in the 90's being an installer was a full-fledged career...good installers could make 60-80K. REALLY GOOD installers could probably make over 100K, now the only installers making that kind of money work at high-end shops and are car audio jack-of-all-trades doing all sorts of crazy wiring, fiberglassing, custom fabrication etc. If you get a job at a mom-and-pop shop you'll probably make about $100-$150 a day (once you know what you're doing)...if you work at Best Buy or somewhere like that you'll start at about $11/hr and peak at about $18/hr once you're highly valuable and MECP Master-Certified. I don't know about any "schools" exactly...if you still want to pursue a job as an installer, your best bet would probably be to get a job in car audio sales (at a place that does installation) and try and work your way back to the installation bay.

Don't get into homeland security either...we need to get rid of that f*ckin department ;-)Check out liberty university.

I know a lot of people that switched from university of phoenix to Liberty university online.

Head Unit Fuse Question?

-I have an Alpine head unit, and if I try to turn the volume past 14, it turns off. I took out the head unit, and saw that it only has a 10 watt fuse in it. If I was to add a different fuse, say like a 50 watt one, would that help?

My indash radio was stolen out of my Monte Carlo SS 2002 would this cause the computer to throw an P0650 code?

-The radio was snatched out would those wires possibly have sumthing to do wit the computer throwing a P0650?yes it is the radio , for some reason the power cable touch the orange and pink wire and now the power is mix with the data or a spike of power when into the pink wire

pink wire and orange wires are data only this comes from the body control module

Can i put my logitech z3 subwoofer in my car, and how?

-my car has no bass, trying to put my logitech stereo in, is that possible? its an older z3 subwoofer

How should i hook up powerful car subs in the house?

-I have two 12a that were running at roughly 3000 watts. I spent a pretty penny on them and they dont fit in my new car. I listen to alot of bass heavy music and I figured if it is possible, I would like to put them in my house, and maybe even DJ with them. How would I be able to use these with house audio systems?Just hook them to a home amp, but most home amps are capable of handling a min of 8 ohms. If the ohm level is lower than that, the amp may blow or shut off randomly at high volume.

Your car subs im guessing are 4 ohms. If they are you can simply wire the subwoofers in a series and connect them to the home amp just fine without worrying if youll blow the amp.

If your subs are DVC (most large subwoofers are) than you will have to wire both voice coils of ONE subwoofer in series and it should create an 8 ohm load for one woofer, do the same to the other and connect each woofer to its own channel on the amp.

Home amplifiers don't put out enough power for car subs. Home amps ussally pack a max of about 200W, 400W and 500W.

What you can do if you're looking for more power is find a PA amplifer. PA amps can handle 2,4,8 and sometimes even 1 OHMs but alot of them put out about 1000-3000W RMS per channel. which can easlily blow any subwoofer.
you shouldnt but if u do make sure u wire for correct ohms and also u will need a good cross over so u dont run full range through subs not good for them and sounds terrible

How to keep my amp from turning off?

-Ok it's not connection problems or anything but its 105 outside and my truck is sitting in the sun with no shade so my 4 channel amp gets real hot it has a fan and it helps out but it's turned off on me 2 times before any help? It's a mtx 4 channel terminatorGet it elevated!!!!! you can buy some longer screws and some spacers. little plastic spacers that are hollowed out. place your amp on those then drill it down on top of those solid. It will only raise your amp to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch depending on the spacer size. Shouldnt be too hard to find but this will let air flow all around the amp. Also try to make sure there is a inch or 2 of breathing room all over the amp. if you have your amp in your truck make sure that the vents and fan are pointing vertacal not horizontal. this will help heat to rise up and out on its own. Because heat rises. Buy a windshield shade. When you get in your truck and its a 110 to start off. then you pump wattage to your already hot amp. Well you already know what happens lol. And run that A/C I have a black interrior truck. I have to cool it off or I litterally smell my speakers if i just hop in it and run the system. The biggest thing is get those amps off the ground. That cools them off so much. helps out a lot. And buy that window shade. Try to keep your amp out of direct sunlight.

I have heard and seen some people doing extra stuff to cool there amps. I have seen people install a 2nd fan which doesnt always work out that well. and I have even seen people hook up a water cooling system. You could try these but Its time and effort. The fan one is take the cover plate off. drill some holes in it. and attach a fan to it. But you already have a fan.

Oh and get a capacitor and make sure your getting all the volts you can going to the amp. More volts in the more you can turn down your amps gains to make it not work as hard to get the same watts coming out. Plus this will make your sound quality go up too. Maybe infest in a deck that has a higher pre out voltage. or get a line driver to boost voltage. audiocontrol makes some good ones but there pricey.make sure ur at correct ohms for amp if u can be a little higher than the low imp. but when its a 105 outside its best just not to push em too hard heat killls everything

Can you put a car subwoofer on its back? I have a big ole 15" now and it takes better space laying back.?

-I have a big ole 15" now in a hatchback that I used to use the cover on my 12". That slider cover so people don't know what you got. I know the bass might not bounce off the walls and resonate as well but until I get my windows tinted I would like to conceal it if possible w/o damaging the speaker. That'll work fine.

It'll work better on its back than it will if someone steals it.

Ccan you wire ten dual 4ohm subs down to 1ohm?

-ii want to put anywhere from eight to ten dual 4 ohm subs in my truck and none of the online tools explain how to do that many ,so does anyone know how to figure it in their head? which ever from eight to ten subs that gets down or closest to 1 ohm...thanks!I've never done anything that crazy, but I think so.

Wire each sub in series to 8ohms.

Next, create 5 pairs (in series) which would give you five 16ohm pairs

then connect each of those 5 pairs in parallel and that would drop the overall load to 1ohm (assuming this is correct: Pair 1 to Pair 2=8ohms, P2 to P3=4ohms, P3 to P4=2ohms, and P4 to P5=1ohm).

Seems to me like that would work but before you go out and buy 10 subs I would try talking to a custom car audio shop. Hopefully if I'm wrong one of the other knowledgable people in this forum will correct me.
impossible! if you get a amp for each sub you find out it will sound alot better an no amp will blow

Truck Aux input goes in and out...?

-I'm not sure whats wrong. I know my speakers on my truck (10' Ram) work, and I know my iPhone works... so either my aux cord is broken, or my aux input is broken. Can I clean the cd laser with air duster?

-I have this annoying noise in my cd player and I went to buy a cd cleaner kit but the clerk suggested Memorex air duster for better results.... I am not sure if is safe to spray inside the cd deck. I am totally clueless when it comes to electronics, but I love to listen to my music clearly and smooth while I drive! I will appreciate your help and suggestions. Thanks!I have never seen an annoying noise issue fixed with canned air. Will it be cleaner? Probably. Will it fix a noise issue? Probably not.

Lost Radio/CD code as we toke battery out of a car,?

-Toke battery out of my car and put in my friends car, AND guess WHAT lost the radio/cd code , thank you, i was given code for my car but not my friend car as i did'nt have Model number; Now i have a serial and model number, i wonder IF some one can help with the code,FORD .Model;

One 12" 1500w rms subwoofer in the right box or two 12" 1000w rms in box too small?

-I am going to power them with a Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bd amp at 1500w rms. They are an RE Audio MX 12" or two RE Audio SXX in the same size enclosure since I do not have space. So which would be louder. Thanks!Ditto what dragonbreath said. The single 12 with that much power will be quite loud (and will likely sound better than 2 12's), but if you're set on having a REALLY LOUD set-up then you may want to do some more research and see if you can find some high-power subs that operate in less airspace. But you definitely don't want to mess with the recommended airspace as you can run into all sorts of acoustical problems.

I don't know the code for my vauxhall corsa's radio player, what should I do?

Vehicle Aftermarket Alpine 9886 Stereo Head Unit shutting off only inner speakers.and leaving sub woofer on.?

-System Consist of Alpine 9886 Head Unit

Kicker L7 with Kicker Amp

And Four Infinity Speakers on the doors( no amp for them )

So I installed these set of speakers in my front and rear in my explorer about two weeks ago, and today it started acting odd. After about a couple of minutes from turning the radio on the speakers went completely quiet (with head unit staying on ) .. and the sub proceeded to hit to the sound of the music (assuming). After this occurred I detached the faceplate and let it sit for about a couple of seconds. then tried again and the issue occurred again. so i detached again.. then problem occurred once again. After this occurred I took off the faceplate for about 5 minutes. This time after this time it work correctly.

Any reason to why this would occur? My thought was maybe the Head unit was to hot bc of the weather??

Side note: it was pretty hot outside today at around 100 degrees and the head unit faceplate was very hot when getting in the vehicle.check the fuses, you might need to change those out. But if you got it working again it might have just been too hot. But before you go in and do any major changes, ALWAYS check the fuses first. thats what theyre there for.

Subwoofer rattleing a trunk.?

-How do you make your trunk stop rattleing if you have a subwoofer in it? What can you put on the trunk to make it not rattle or not rattle "as much"?One potential culprit to 'trunk rattle' are the support rods that run from left to right. They are usually tucked close to the rear deck. Ive wrapped these in foam insulation before to stop them from rattling against each other. Ive also seen license plates housings (and the actual plate) ratlle like a mofo when they are set into the trunk. You can take these off and install back with rubber washers to stop it.

*

And of course like the other poster said, use Dynamat (or equivalent) Dynamat is awesome and really makes a huge difference in sound quality and noise reduction, both from the car and the outside.
describe you're car model and make for a more accurate answer

if it's a four door sedan car - pop you're boot/trunk of your car, look at the panel of the boot/trunk. put some foam and tape on the brackets. most sedans and four door trunks have an "X" looking bracket that can be found by simply looking up.

from there. grab yourself some soft foam or material and tape and jam some soft foam BETWEEN the trunk panel and the "X" frame.

if it still does not stop the rattle then you might simply have to get some friends together over a holiday, strip the car and tighten/tape the same brackets inside door panels and inside the plastic molds inside the actual car itself

on a hatchback like a corolla or laser or ford focus... the sound rattles from the windshield! such as your rear view vision mirror, **** like coins in your center console.

Even the rear windshield wiper will rattle. but that CAN NOT be fixed and I would not recommend to try it.

I have many friends who have the same problem and this takes alot of time, patience and a little bit of cash.
Dynamat Xtreme is the only thing I've used that really works. It ain't cheap, but it'll stop the rattling, and will improve SQ and SPL.

You'll probably want this too (it's what I use):

they sellstuff used for roofs that works same thing as dynamat just way cheaper buy it at lowes ,or home depot

Problem listening to ipod in my car?

-I connected my ipod to my aux input in my car. And the music plays but the sound mainly comes out of the speakers on the right side only. I tried turning the balance up on the left side but it just comes out really quiet unless I turn the volume up all the way, in which case then you can't hear the right side anymore. I don't know what's wrong. Could it be the cable? I ordered it from china. Thanks. If it isnt the cable it may be worthwhile to note that sometimes the IPOD inverts its digital data when sending it to the CD player turning what would be stereo on your headphones into a strong signal on one side. It all depends on the quality of the file on the IPOD and how the IPOD is being recieved. Lower quality song files are sometimes transferred to a strong signal on one side of the reciever while the other side is lost.

Why do my subs cut out? #2?

-Why do my subs cut out?

I'm running two solo baric l7 12 inches rated at 750 rms a piece from a t1500 rockford amp which is rated at 1500 rms at 2 ohms (which is what I have them wired at). My subs cut out after about 15-25 minutes of high volume then turn back on after a few minutes of being off. I suspect overheating. Is there anything I can do to make them last longer? Power isn't a problem, I have them hooked up to a separate kinetic 1400 amp batter that's in my trunk with 0 gauge wiring. I have the 1400 amp battery running into my car battery, They are supposed to equalize charge having the alternator charge both. I've had the subs in for about a month but only running on max for about 2 weeks. I made a rack for my amps, having them sitting an inch up and having nothing touching them in my impala trunk. I usually have the seats down to increase air flow but to no prevail. For more details on the sub, http://www.kicker.com/Solo-Baric_L7 . I have the 11 model so those figures are correct. I'm running a ported box made by kicker especially for two of these subs. I never smell anything but the electric smell you get with high-end subs. Also, the kinetic battery has only been in for 2 weeks which is why they only recently have been running on max. Thanks! Sorry for the double post, no one answered last time! You posted the last one 2 hours ago.

Maybe if you would give people the benefit of an hour before posting the question over again you would get more answers to your question.

Saying noone answered last time is a lie.

I answered your last one myself before you even added this new question.
u are either under loading i.e to low impd for amp witch will cause amp to shut down for protection or ur gain is way too high whats the input level on amp if thats too high will also cause shut down if not get a line booster and turn ur gain way down the line booster will make a world of difference
First you need to determine exactly what is causing the subs to cut out. With a meter, test the voltage at the amp before you operate the system. Then when it shuts down. 0.5V difference in the readings could mean significantly less than 12V with the amp operating.

Most amps will go into protection from overheating, low voltage, low impedance, and excessive current conditions. The most probably causes in your case would appear to be overheating or low voltage.

If the alternator doesn't supply enough current to keep both batteries voltage up, either battery will act to reduce the voltage of the other one. In effect, supplying the current to charge the lower voltage battery, while at the same time providing power for the amp.

With trunk installed amps, airflow could also be the problem. If the amp is especially hot when it shuts down, you might consider adding some "forced air cooling". Use a muffin fan to circulate air directly onto the amp heat sink.

Copied and pasted from the other question i answered....

If u give me the chance i can help you...

Do you have that battery hooked up to the alternator?

What is the voice coil setup on the L7

EDIT***

After reading the info i still need to know wether the subwoofer is a Dual 2 or dual 4 OHM

If your smelling anything electrical that is TERRIBLE

If you have some sort of instant messanger im more than happy to help my YIM is Xhellobobx

SECOND EDIT**

My guess is that u have Dual 2 and have it wired to .5 Ohms which that amp isnt stable at so its throwing the amp into protect

If its what im guessing you basically got the wrong amp/sub combo but we can still make it work ;)

And btw

STL Marine WTF are u talking about? Get used to the frequencies? Its buil;d only to play those freq... true there is a break in period where subs get louder after theyve been broken in but WTF are u talking about your definitely wrong.

**Third Edit

Everyone except STL Marine has a knowledgable and highly plausible answer!

Installed new deck now right side speakers crack?

-ok so i bought a new pioneer deck and installed it correctly all the correct wires to wires with electrical tape surrounding the wires. but i get this crackling noise out of my right side speakers. ive checked the wiring over and over on the deck and the door speakers and none of them are touching metal. Should i replace the wiring harness to the deck or could it be the deck it self thats causing the speakers to crack? Any suggestions would help me at this point. THANKS!!!scenario A- (fix this even if its not this causing the problem) Its your wiring. using electrical tape alone isnt good enough you either need to soldier first and then use tape, or use crimp caps. the wires aren't getting a good connection and making a crackling noise.

scenario B- The channels on the radio are bad and you need to exchange it.

scenario C- The speakers are blown. Ive blown speakers in a matter of hours before (I'm also running a 600x4 for speakers, but thats off topic). It doesn't matter how recent you put them in, you could have blown them.
You can isolate the problem by using a test speaker. Pull the wires from a door and run them to a test speaker. If it cracks, its your deck. If it doesnt, its your speakers.

*

And like the other posters said, you should really use crimp connectors or solder the wires in addition to tape.

How much is this system worth?

-2 rockford fosgate p1 punch 12s

in seperate ported boxes

with a 500 watt memphis ampthe amp sells new for 259.00 and the p1 12s are 129 each to bad you cant get the max from that amp with those subs the best if they are the 4 ohm is a 2 ohm configuration with that amp you only get 300 watts at 2 ohms. well thats over the max on those subs but i bet they sound good as hell that amp can give more but its a good system. that amp is stable at 1 ohm and 500 watts rms you could do better if you change subs. to a p3d2 12 wired to 1 ohm you can get all 500 from the amp. but you got good beats now ok. but how are those boxes set up get an ohm meter and checkProbably about $250-$300.

Need help installing CD player in 1999 Monte Carlo?

-Ok I'm ordering a new car stereo and I have a few questions.....1.) Will I have to buy a new harness, kit, and antenna or does this stuff already come with the cd player I ordered.....2.) Do I really have to unplug my car battery when installing the new CD player ?Your kit will probably include some new wire, but not a harness. You'll have to see if you can find an adapter for your factory harness - Check .. CrutchField.com .. antenna - definitely not, but a CD player doesn't access the antenna. Unhooking the battery ?? Don't see that, either.1) yes you will need a harness, and an antenna adapter, unless you dont plan to listen to the radio.

2) do you have to unplug the battery? No you dont HAVE to , but you should. Especially if you are inexperienced at installing. Of course you can just pull the fuse instead.

Is this a doable car stereo setup?

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1079鈥?/a>

i am new to car audio and want to know if this setup is good and will work. thanks in advance

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB651S/P鈥?/a>That would work quite well. You use channels 1 & 2 for the fronts, and bridge 3 & 4 for the sub.

However, I'd recommend picking a better quality amp from a brand-name manufacturer so you get good quality and reliability.

Spend a little bit more and you can get a good quality unit like the Hifonics Hifi (4x 200WRMS) at $140

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036B8鈥?/a>

While youre on Amazon, check out how much cheaper (almost half the price !!) you can get that Infinity Reference sub (nice choice BTW), but go for the Single 4ohm voice coil unit, it will give better loading and more power from the amp for really good bass

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0028AV鈥?/a>

Same with the Polk's, almost half price:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P0N鈥?/a>

Spend the savings on the stronger amp, and get a nice 4g wiring kit and you're well on your way to an excellent Sound Quality installation with solid bass.

If im cutting holes for a 12" subwoofer how big do the holes actually have to be? 12 inches?

-i know its a dumb question but im getting two 12" kickers and i want to know the exact size hole to cut. i wasnt sure if its actually 12 inchesLol... Laura... car audio is my life ive bought TONS of subs... and NOT ONE has come with this "paper template" you say.

The fact of the matter is that in the subwoofers specifications "wether on the site or in the manual"

Will give you the exact of how big the hole needs to be

12" is the FULL diameter of the subwoofer... if you cut it 12" then there is nothing to screw the subwoofer into.It depends on the brand, they are not usually exact, however they do usually come with a paper template you can tape on and use as a guide to cut out the wholes and drill screw holes.

Well Patrick, I don't know what you use, But My RF speakers I've used on a few systems always come with something like this, in addition to box design diagrams to make the box best suited for the speaker :

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/li鈥?/a>

Usually for larger speakers there is a folded up template, or I've simply used the insulation ring as a guide to mark the size.

Is this a good sub woofer setup?

-I'm just browsing amazon, and I have a minimal budget. So I found a Dual BP1204 12-Inch 1100-Watt Illumination Bandpass Subwoofer, and a Boss PH2.600 Phantom Series 1200 Watts 2 Channels MOSFET Car Amplifier with Remote. I need help finding a good head unit too. I'm just using this as starter subs and a start amp. Is this a good setup? HelpYeah that will be fine. Not a bad set up if you ask me. Just make sure it will work on your car stereo if you haven't upgraded it yet do it.

I purchased a legacy la160 car amp.It came with no wiring kit.?

-I need to know what size fuse goes in the fusable link, which connects from the amp to the battery?

Ok look to see I'm right on this. I'm new to subwoofers and amps but take a look if this would be good.?

-Especially for an entry level person like me.

2 12" Memphis 15-PR12D4 with a Alpine MRP-M500 amp and a ported box. Lets just say the headunit is stock.

How does that sound?

Would it beat hard or am I not giving them enough juice?the best 2 12" setup ive heard that balances music quality and loudness with sub quality and loudness is 2 12" Kicker CVRs and 1000 watt Kicker amp. with a 4 gauge power cable. I got that in my car and it sounds great, better than all my buds setups. Its a bit pricey-- 600-800. but its worth it. Try and get the same brand amp as your subs. sound better and built to go with eachother.

Advice for aftermarket deck or ipod integration for a 2004 pontiac grand prix gtp?

-I have a 2004 Pontiac grand prix gtp and I need to get an iPod hookup to the cars sound system. I would get a cd deck but don't know how to put one in when I have the air controls on that panel and I need to keep the 8 disc cd changer. Is there a stereo converter for my car that can fit an aftermarket deck and allow me to use the air controls as well as my cd changer ? If not is there just a cord I can install to my factory unit to allow me to hook me iPod up to it without losing quality ? Any help is appreciated thanks !!!Your air controls should be seperate from your stock stereo. I guess i don't get that part, but crutchfield sells Mounting brackets that will specifically fit in your car. find the new head unit you like and call them and tell them what you need it to be able to do and they will hook you up with a bracket and wiring harness so you can do it all yourself very easily. The wiring harness is around $20 and the bracket about the same. Just make sure you ask if the wiring harness will support your stock disc changer.

Sub cutting speakers out after certain volume?

-I have a smarties sub and amp (i think its 500 or 1300 watt) and after a certain volume around 15 or 16, the whole sound system stops working until i turn the cd player off and on again and i have to turn it down. I'm not sure about the specs but i have it all wired up properly and the fuses are in working order, i don't understand why it cuts out. It's wired from the battery, i have a ground cable attached to the boot catch, wires connecting the amp/sub and wire from the speaker input to the amp. If anyone could help.sort it i'd be very grateful, thanks!

Whats a good gps system for a long trip?

-I'm driving to Texas from Ohio in a few months and need to buy a gps system. I'm also getting a route but gps would make things easier. Not to mention id like a gps anyway. If you know of a good gps system that's affordable (under 200) please let me know. Thankstry finding a jensen "touch and go" they are cheap, easy to use, and have very nice features. we use to sell this but gps sales didnt really work for us so we stopped selling it all together, but when we did sell gps the touch and go was a lot better than tom tom and garmin.

What to do with my car audio?

-I currently have an 09' Mustang. It has a stock stereo system, it has really good bass already, but I want to upgrade it more. But I dont want some 50 pound speakers weighing down my car or taking up trunk space. Is there anything else I can do? Im open to anything.change the head unit for an aftermarket...not a cheap walmart one. And replace all the speakers. Almost all brands that make bigger subs will also sell smaller speakers.

2002 Altima Firewall?

-I am installing subs in my 02 Altima. I have put subs in numerous cars, yet I cant find any openings. Anyone installed subs in an 02 Altima? One guy told me to go through the wheel well into the fender into the car, one said to run it under the body of the car and drill through the trunk which sounds 100% retarded, and others said to just drill through the firewall. Its an automatic so i was going to drill where the clutch petal would belong but before i do any other ideas? All my cars Ive owned i been lucky to have a rubber boot that you can pull out to have a pre-drilled hole into my car. If you going to say drill through the fire wall any specific drill bits? Or just standard metal drill bit will do.

How to wire sub to 1 ohm?

-Im going to be getting an fi BTL N2 with dual 2 ohm voice coils. it says the RE is 1.4 ohms per coil.

My amp is 1 ohm stable, so how o i wire it to 1 ohm? Or at least to the highest power output the sub and amp can handle.dudes right go to 12 volt and youll never need to ask that question again, and its simple to use :)

Why does my sub sound like something inside vibrates after it hits?

-i have 2 12" subs in a kinda poorly built box they hit great and hard but when they "recoop" (or what ever its called after they hit) it sounds like something is loose inside ratteling around. What is this and what can i do to fix it?

How do i connect 4, 12V LED stripes to my amp without them blowing?

-i have 4 12V red led light stripes and i want to connect them so that they will flash with my bass but i dont want to blow my lights or mess anything elseHooking it up on the RCA side definatelt wouldn't blow the led's, but it wouldn't light em up at all either, not close to enough voltage... I guess it depends on what kind of amp you have and how much it's putting out. Depending on the output you may have to use some resistors, but positive to the amps positive and ground it to the car. Should be good
You CAN hook them up but you SHOULD NOT!

Will it work?

- At a low volume, yes

Will it blow?

- once you start jamin and crank it, and use more power from your amp *BOOM* no more leds

So how do i do this?

- there are flashing LED kits you can buy and hook up with alot less grief then you will have trying to just tether wires together here
i never tried this before but maybe if you splice them in on the rca wires before the amp they should flash with the bass cause thats where the bass signal is coming from

Hooking up after market stereo?

-My friend is hooking up a after market stereo in his 2003 Dodge ram. He wants to run a 12v wire from his + battery cable into the amplifier. Which is correct. He then also wants to run a second 12v wire from the battery directly into his stereo. Is this correct. Or will something blow out.You can run the head unit's constant power wire directly to the battery, but it's not really necessary. Usually the factory constant power connection in the radio harness has enough current capacity for an after-market head unit, so there's no need to run to the battery. In addition to the extra work involved, small wires at the battery are vulnerable to corrosion. Remember that any wire connected to the battery needs to have a fuse near the battery connection, and the fuse needs to be an appropriate size for the wire. If you use the factory constant power connection in the radio harness, it's already fused in the vehicle fuse box.
There should be a 12v constant from the battery that goes to the stereo and the amp, also a keyed 12v (only 12v when the ignition key is on) that should run to both so the amp and stereo are only on when the key is turned on

Speakers,amplifiers,subwoofer for my car?

-Hi.I'm hopefully going to get a car soon and I was just wondering what is the best sound system for a car?Im probably going to get a 2007 Dodge Charger and I would like to install it in my car, like in the trunk?Sorry,I'm new to this car sound system thing and also can a professional install it as opposed to me installing it(incorrectly)?Thank you so much.

I need car audio advice and opinions on a set up.?

-Hello, to start off with some detail i am looking for a sound system that is going to put off a nice balance of bass and treble weather loud or quiet. I'm looking for more of a surround Sound feel then someone who buys 1200Wrms subs with explosive amps and shakes the glory out of there car lol. I want something that is loud enough to show off but clean and clear sound as well.

So back to the question i need advice on anything i might be missing or that i should buy to make my dream come true (like if i would want 12", more wattage, less, capacitor, etc). This is my setup so far that i'm going to purchase.

(2) energy line 10" sub woofers (Energy makes good quality home sound systems and there sub woofer is supposedly good for high and low frequency). These subs run at 600w peak, and 200Wrms. (Link: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/energy-energy-10-car-subwoofer-enc10b-enc10b/10146374.aspx?path=cb258ee85120cf9ce64e5932edadfd05en02&lid=fp-10146374-energyenergy10carsubwooferenc1-en)

(2) 6 1/2's Energy car speakers, these run at 80Wrms and 120 peak.

(2) 6x9's in the back seat under neath the rear wind shield mounted. These run at 120Wrms and 250peak. http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/energy-energy-6-x-9-3-way-car-speakers-enc693x2-enc693x2/10146373.aspx?path=6745c618863f85621a7819c926e624d8en02

Amps: i have 1 power akoustic 2 channel amp that gives out 250Wrms to each channel, which will be used for my subs.

and 1 power akoustic 4 channel amp that runs 100Wrms per channel and can be made into 2 channels of 200wrms each. this will be for my speakers.

Okay so this is your part. please give suggestions, opinions, anything to help me out here.

Thanks

Can someone explain Amps, Subs & Speakers?

-Alright, so I'm re-doing my cars audio. But I want to fully understand what needs to be done before I do it. I understand that amps power subs & speakers. The terms bridge & ohms, I don't. I know mono amps have I guess one output, for a sub. 2 channel, usually for a set of speakers, 4 channels for all the speakers, and 5 for speakers & subs. Right? Now when it comes to amps pushing out power, RMS power for speakers & subs, why is that always a low number? I'm looking at a nice JL or Memphis sub with either Memphis or Infinity Kappa speakers, and an amp to push'em. If the sub pushes 200w-1200w RMS, and the amp I saw for almost $600 only pushes 300w, or something like that, how does that work? Doesn't sound like the amp is fully powering the subs potential. Shouldn't each channel in the amp push out whatever it's powering full potential? Like speakers that push 130 RMS, the amp shouldn't push 50 per channel or w/e. It should push 130 or more per channel, right? And you have a sub running to that amp, and it pushes 500w RMS, then the amp should push 500w RMS per channel to fully power the speakers and sub?

To install the new head unit, you'll need to use a special adapter to keep the Infinity amplifier working with the new deck. Look for a Metra 70-7003. This works with the new deck's RCA outputs, not the speaker outputs; if you only have one set of RCA output jacks on the head unit, you'll need to use splitters and you'll lose the ability to fade from front to rear. Otherwise, you can bypass the factory amp, but I'd recommend replacing the speakers if you do.

Car Stereo System with 2 amps?

-Hey everyone, Question: I have a system that has speakers running off a sony 600 watt 4 channel amp. I want to add a subwoofer but this will require me to buy another amplifier, specifically for the sub. Is there any way i can hook up 2 amps together in a system? Or do i have to stick with One amp.

thanks!

Which amp would work better for 2 subs?

-Which of tris amps would be better to power 2 Boss NX129DC Onyx 12" Subwoofer Dual 4ohm Voice coils running them at 1 ohm and How would i wire it. And why do mono amps have 2 positive and 2 negative outputs for subs.

1. HFi1000 Hfi Series D-Class Mono Amplifier 1 x 475 @ 4 OHMS, 1 x 750 @ 2 OHMS, 1 x 1000 @ 1 OHM

2. Brutus BXI1210D 1200 Watt D-Class Mono Amplifier

3. New Hifonics Brutus Brz1200.1d 1,200 Watt RMS @ 1 Ohm (Cea-2006 Certified) Monoblock Super Class D Amplifier with High Efficiencyyou dont need a class D amp you need a class A/B mono amp since the subs is not a high powered speaker!! take a look at the boss phantom amps class A/B cause like the dragon said you'll blow that sub up! but if you get the Dual 2 ohm sub you could use a class D. im also curious to know about the kind of box you putting it in.honestly any of them would work great. the brz would be the best, but its not going to be a whole lot better than either of the other 2.

and mono amps have more than one set of speaker terminals to make it easier to wire together multiple woofers. they still tie together into one channel
those boss subwoofers do not handle anywhere near rated power. i suggest you get the hfi1000.the larger amplifiers would just be a waste of money. with the larger amps you would also risk blowing the subwoofers.

If i want to upgrade my car soundsystem wat do i need to buy? like do i need to buy amplifier? or just subwoof?

-Okay so my car, one of the speakers in my car doesnt work at all. SO bascially i need new speakers, but i always want to upgrade the bass too

So all i need to do is buy a new pair of car speakers, and the subwoofers? or what elese do i need? Do i really have to buy an amplifier too? because the money piles up pretty fastCheck out sonicelectronix.com go to subwoofer, get subwoofer amp combo, you should be able to get a decent sub, box, and amp for under 350. whatever you have left you need to spend on a wiring kit, which can also be available on the siteIt depends on how far you want to go with the sound system. If you want to do just subs get an amp, box, subs, amp kit and you should be okay. If you want to go further you can upgrade the head-unit, speakers, get an amp for the speakers and an amp kit.

Good luck!
go to a stereo shop and give them the 350 and ask for a budget system. and they will hook you up with some soso stuff for now they might even have a package deal for you.
Subs amp distributor wires and maybe new alternator

How do I fight traffic tickets?

-Location: Toronto, Ontario.

I received two tickets when I was pulled over.

1. For not presenting a vehicle permit. (I forgot it at home)

2. For driving in a bus lane (I had pulled out from one intersection and was planning to turn into an upcoming street)

I would appreciate some general advice regarding fighting these tickets. I will be taking them to court, but what happens then? I just need some general advice please, since this is the first time I have received a ticket.I can tell that you have not been to traffic court very offten.

Plead guilty with a explenation i beleave number 3 on the back of the ticket.

You will get half the fine and no points.

Try to fight with out witness is hopeless your word against the cops outcome will be the same as if you pleaded 3 on the ticket yourself.

What should I looking for in subwoofers?

-What is more important in purchasing subwoofers, rms watts, peak watts, or brand name? I have done about a weeks worth or research and gained a good amount of knowledge on subwoofers. But the last question I need answered is the one stated above. I have found subwoofers that say 500 watt rms, 1000 watt peak, but is that going to produce good bass? Will the brand hold up?

Thank You very much in advance for answering

PS: My budget for two 12"s, amp, box, wiring kit is around $300-400RMS is the only number regarding wattage that matters ("Peak" is a made up number). Brand is important for everything from sound quality to longevity. For $300-$400 for everything I doubt you would be able to get a system that is both loud AND durable. A more realistic cost for quality amp/subs/box/wiring would be around $600-$800.I have a kicker 12 CVR that not only hits hard and low, it is smooth and doesn't distort the mids/highs. I had two kenwoods that hit VERY hard but drowned out the music completely. As far as power goes, anything above 500w is unnecessary. I have 350w and I have out bassed guys with 1000w+. If you are looking for low, clear bass (which is what I suugest), Get 2 Kicker CVRs or COMPs with a 500w Alpine amp. I promise you will be VERY satisfied.
Rms. Cuz that's what it can handle all the time. It can do up to 1000 but it can't handle a constant bump like that. So if u got a 1000w rms amp on two 500w rms subs ull be good. But if u go higher (rms) on amp u could blow ur subs

How to get to rear speakers on a 90 Toyota Corolla?

-It appears I have to take out the back seat. Is that true? I don't see any screws on the black speaker covers and they don't seem to want to pop out. If I have to remove the back seat, how do I get it out? This is a factory stereo and speaker system.

Is ARC AUDIO FD600.1 amp better than kicker 600.1 and is kicker zx 750.1 is better than ARC AUDIO FD600.1 ?

-arc audio there a sound quality company great amps .well i took alook. seems like the acr has more rms than the kicker.

So i would say the arc...

Check the source and take alook for your self..

like i said the Arc has more RMS only by 20.

Ive never heard of arc.

Personlly i would go with the kicker, Simply b/c its a good name brand plus its strappable.

Meaning the same amp can be combinded with it.

How do you turn the IRT on for rear seat DVD system in Saturn Outlook?

-I have a rear DVD system. We have headphones that did work but are now not working. We have not used them in a while so we replaced the batteries and the power lights are on but no sound. When we turn on the unit in the bottom left it says IRT Off. I assume this has to do with the infrared and that is needed for the headphones to work. We bought the outlook use so we have no remote but I would think I could change what I need to using the buttons on the unit since something has changed now and we have never had a remote. Please help! We are tired of listening to children's shows and would like to have the headphones working before a long summer trip. Thanks!

4-Ohm load created by internal series/parallel wiring

Help meh, how many watts amplifier do i need? Links appreciated, thxIdeally, you'd want an amplifier rated between 600 and 1000 watts RMS into 1 channel at 4 ohms. This might be hard to find, because most mono amps are designed to produce their maximum output with a 2-ohm load, and they won't be as powerful with 4 ohms. That means you end up paying for power you won't be using (at least with this subwoofer system). Another option is a 2-channel amp that can produce 600-1000 watts RMS when bridged, but 2-channel amps with this kind of power aren't common. You'd have a much easier time if the manufacturer had designed the system for a 2-ohm impedance.

Here are a few that would work:

2000 watt amp, you match an amp to speakers so the amp is not working hard. If the amp works hard you get distortion.
A 2000+ watt amp

How much will adding 2 aftermarket speakers help sound quality of my car?

Is it OK to wire two 8 ohm subs to 4 ohms?

-I have two 8 ohm kenwood subs and i wired them parallel (creating a 4 ohm load). My amp is stable at 4 ohms. A friend told me that wiring 8 ohm subs down to 4 ohms will damage the subs or the amp. Is this true, or will my setup be ok?ohm's is just a measure of resistance a sub manufacturer puts on there subs so you know type of resistance each sub has most subs are fine at 2 ohm loads but remember lower resistance = more power...more power makes more chances to clip the amp or bottom out the sub(both are bad) ive wired 6 subs to 1/2 ohm and they do fine you just cant overpower them or else you will damage your equipment(easy to do at that low of resistance)
8-ohm car audio subs exist so that they can be combined together to make a 4-ohm load. Provided your amplifier is stable at 4 ohms (like every other car audio amplifier on the planet) you won't have any problem at all. You're using them exactly like they're meant to be used.
No, you might never know what will happen, BUT for safety reasons, Wear safety gloves, helmet and stuff, and just be really careful if you try
Your setup is OK. Your friend is wrong.

Car stereo whistle noise?

-So i added a 4 channel amp to my speakers and now all of a sudden there is a whistle. It doesn't change volume, only pitch with RPM. the RCA's are run from head unit into my amp to subs then out and split into the 4 channel, is that it or could it be drawing more power than the alternator can put out?http://www.termpro.com/articles/noise.ht鈥?/a>

Sub woofer questions?

-Currently have some cheap "OK" subs and now want something to really shake the car.

whats louder, kenwood kfc w3012 or Infinity Reference 1262w?

also if another suggestions please feel free to add. looking for as loud as possible and not really wanting to spend more then 100 bucks a speaker

is there anything out there that might get me around 600rms preferably 12" or possibly 15" and not so ill have to sell a kidney to afford?

thanksI like the Kicker CVR I think one of them like 400 watts RMS you can actually get it for like 80 to 90 dollars. It say 400 watts RMS but I have seen people used 500 watts RMS alpine M500 for that single subwoofer pretty sick *** subwoofer. Both of the Kenwood and infinity are built for sound quality not for something that shake you car. I'd suggest you save up your cash get 2 12 inch Fi audio BL 1000 watts RMS each woofer could handle, nothing major that thing could shake your car apart. or looking for something louder FI BTL N3 or SSA Zcon both of them are high level competition woofers, along in those line check out Orion HCCA and DC audio Level 5, Orion HCCA is what I am using now days single 12 inch that's about it, competition winning subwoofer. Let me tell you that.
i have a set of sound storms there peak power is 2000 watts each and the rms wattage is 1000 and right now i have 250 rms going into each and they shake the hell out of my car so if i get the proper amp it will be insane like i have to have everything turned right down and it still shake and the subs make my amp kick out because the subs are draining to much power and these subs you can get online for 60 some odd dollars each
hey babie mama i have a question

Bascially my speakers on my car, one of them doesnt work

So i just want to upgrade everything on the sound system. But I dont know where to start

I search up sound systems

and they sell like subwoofers, and all these things, amplifiers, I dont know which one is required and what not.

I just want to get speakers, but a new stronger bass. What do i need to buy? and thanks.

I have maybe a 350 dollar budget on speakers, thanks
Kenwood would probably be louder but I like the way infinity speakers sound more. But like they said earlier the kicker speakers are awesome!
