-I have two 10s - JL audio W3v2 and a Rockford fosgate amp- 600 watts. For some reason it doesn't beat as hard with the radio playing but when I plug my phone up and listen to music it's ridiculously loud. Same with any one elses phone. My other friends that have sound systems don't do this. It's the same on their phone as it is just the radio. Any suggestions as to why it does this?I'm willing to bet that you have your phone hooked up to your radio by the headphone jack on the phone. Since im willing to bet on that then its because your phone has a volume control for your built-in speaker in your phone and when you hook up that cord to your phone its like hooking up a pair of headphones. the phone will control the volume to the jack and the radio is receiving the music at that volume. Try turning down the music on your phone and is will turn down the volume on the radio.
the signal from the radio doesn't have as many low frequencies you do have to realize that non HD radio isn't as good sounding as an MP3 player. It does have to do with the radio its self, if it has a equalizer or sound processing you will have to play around with that. if you want. Your phone might have a equalizer or some kind of better quality sound cumming from it
